Information Specification Modification Image Review 2013 kia sorento
Today’s exciting news flash: Kia has tweaked the Sorento’s optional and available equipment for 2013, following last year’s more comprehensive cosmetic and mechanical updates. Leather seating surfaces are now standard on Sorento EX trims, and a third-row seat (which increases seating from five to seven passengers) is now standard for the LX V-6 trim.
For 2013, the LX Convenience package now includes Kia’s UVO voice-activated infotainment system in addition to a rearview camera, rear sonar, heated front seats, and fog lamps. Later in the model year, a new Convenience Plus package will add to this list an eight-way power driver’s seat, leather steering wheel and shift knob, and a first aid kit.
The 2013 Kia Sorento is a crossover SUV that fits in between the compact and midsize segments. There are three trim levels: LX, EX and SX. Five-passenger seating is standard on all but the LX V6 and SX, which come with the otherwise optional 50/50 split-folding third-row seat that raises capacity to seven.
The base LX comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, keyless entry, full power accessories, cruise control, air-conditioning, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, Bluetooth and a sound system with a CD player, satellite radio, an auxiliary audio jack and an iPod/USB audio interface. The LX Convenience package adds foglamps, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, an auto-dimming mirror and the Uvo voice-activated electronics interface. On four-cylinder models, this package also includes a more powerful and efficient engine, roof rails and the third-row seat (also available as a stand-alone item). Later in the model year, a new LX Convenience Plus package will add an eight-way power driver seat (with lumbar adjustment), a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a first aid kit.
The Sorento is available in front-wheel drive (FWD) or four-wheel drive (4x4) in five- or seven-seat configurations. A 175-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder, 191-hp direct-injection 2.4-liter four-cylinder or a 276-hp 3.5-liter V6 are the available engine choices. A six-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels. All-speed traction control, stability-control, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, overhead curtain airbags, anti-whiplash head restraints and ignition disable are just a few of the standard safety features offered. 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio, steering wheel audio controls, heated front seats, navigation system and a rearview camera are all available.source:edmunds.com,blog.caranddriver.com,autos.aol.com
