World Drivers' ChampionshipSebastian Vettel's gap at the top to Fernando Alonso has closed very slightly, but Vettel managed to do incredible damage control by making up 21 places from the back of the grid. Kimi Raikkonen's win added to his points tally, but not enough to keep him in the championship fight. It's now a full on battle between Vettel and Alonso with two races remaining.

Kimi Raikkonen won a dramatic Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from Fernando Alonso as safety car periods helped Sebastian Vettel to third place in what might prove to be a pivotal evening in the championship.

Sebastian Vettel has been sent to the back of the grid after stewards excluded him from the results of qualifying. Vettel had stopped on track at the end of the session, having qualified in a provisional third place.The stewards agreed that his actions were acceptable under the rules of force majeure, however the post-session scrutineering report stated that an insufficient amount of fuel

2012 Abu Dhabi GP: Hamilton takes pole ahead of the Bulls





Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ahead of Mark Webber, while Sebastian Vettel was excluded from the results after running out of fuel and will start from the back of the grid.

On the opening runs, it was Hamilton who was comfortably quickest, beating second-placed Vettel by almost half a second. Only Webber and Fernando Alonso got within a second of Hamilton's
