Colourful Flying Snake - Chrysopelea

Amazing Colourful Flying Snake - Chrysopelea

Flying snake is not actually flying. It glides from tree to tree using the speed of fall and its body’s contortion to catch the air and generate lift.

Flying snake will slither to the end of a tree’s branch until its tail dangles in a J-Shape from the branch’s end.
It propels itself from the branch by thrusting its body up and away from the tree, flattens to about twice its normal width, and turns its body in a pseudo concave wing, which can trap air.
By making a continual serpentine motion of lateral undulation back and forth, the snake can stabilize its direction in mid air and land safely.

Information Specification Image Review 2013 Proton Preve
It is a name that sounds difficult to pronounce at first blush, so the car-maker has decided to set the record straight: Roll it on your tongue and blurt it out as “prae-vae”.

That’s how the national car-maker wants you to call its new C-segment sedan, previously known by the code name P3-21A. The Prevé was first shown in full camouflage at Proton’s Power of 1 showcase last month.

Last week, the car-maker decided to organise a media preview of the car in the run-up to the official launch later this month,at which point we will be able to show you the car in its entirety.

Indicative prices of the car is from RM62,000 to RM75,000 but it is expected to be slightly lower at launch time. Three 1.6-litre model variants will be offered.
Proton’s first global car, design and manufactured with world-class processes which take it to a new level in quality. The platform is adapted from that used for the Exora but with a multi-link rear suspension instead of a torsion beam.

The exterior styling is modern with a distinctive front end. Though I had seen a clay model over a year ago, seeing the final product as DSZ pulled off the cover gave me a tingle in the body and I can’t remember any other Proton causing that! I think it’s partly because the car looked very good and partly also because I felt that I (and some other journalists) had a small part in the development of the Preve. Right from the time he joined Proton, DSZ made it a point to engage Malaysian motoring journalists and welcomed our feedback and suggestions, to the point that when the Preve was being developed, he called us in to get our views. So I guess you could say I felt some pride too that this particular model was finally ‘born’.
There’s a lot of storage space available but I feel the cupholders between the front seats (and the two on the armrest at the rear) are a bit shallow. They can hold cans properly but if you put in the small water bottles, then they could tip over in certain situations.
As the speeds rose, I began to notice that the noise levels were rather high. Wind noise was low but engine noise was high and that CVT characteristic of the engine spinning to 5000 rpm and then the road speed catching up didn’t help either. I felt that more insulation would have made a difference but was told that such a solution would mean extra cost.source:star-motoring.com,motortrader.com.my

2012 toyota prius C Road test

Information Specification Image Review 2012 toyota prius
Toyota sells far more hybrids than anyone else, thanks mainly to its iconic Prius and its industry-leading (for non plug-ins) 50-mpg EPA Combined mileage rating. But this year, it's different; Toyota has rounded out the Prius line with two new body styles. First, there's the Prius V, a larger wagon version, which arrived earlier this model year; and now the 2012 Prius C has arrived, appealing to those who want a simpler, more compact car.

With a more familiar, traditional small-car profile and package, yet the same best-in-class 50-mpg figure (actually 53 mpg city, 46 highway)—matched with a base price of just $19,710—the Prius C should attract a wider swath of value-conscious motorists.

Performance

As with the entire Prius lineup, the 2012 Toyota Prius C is powered by both a traditional gasoline engine and a pair of electric motor-generators. The smaller Prius C makes do with smaller drivetrain components, however. Providing power to the wheels and generators is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 73 horsepower and 82 pound-feet of torque. The two electric motor-generators bring the overall output total to 99 hp. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) routes power to the front wheels.

In Edmunds testing, this Prius C accelerated from zero to 60 mph in a rather reluctant 11.3 seconds. Coming to a stop from that speed yielded much better results, as the car does the job in 118 feet, which is about average for compact cars. While power delivery is far from impressive, the crucial numbers here involve miles per gallon and the Prius C is definitely a champ in this respect. The EPA estimates 53 city/46 highway mpg and 50 mpg in combined driving, which is the highest rating in the EPA book for anything other than a high-tech plug-in hybrid. In our testing, we averaged 48.9 mpg.

The trouble comes when you turn your calculating not to the similarly priced, lower-mpg Insight, but to the Yaris. The C's 17-mpg advantage (50 to 33 combined) comes at a premium of perhaps $4000. At $3.50 per gallon gas, that means it'll take exactly one zillion years of typical driving to pay it off. Relative to the medium-priced Prius, or Camry or Fusion Hybrids, both the Insight's and Prius C's hybridization premium seems to be a noticeably bigger proportion of their price.

Getting from the here to there of needing an inexpensive, high mileage car to driving home in a Prius C is like stepping across a wide stream where you'll need to rest your weight on a few specific rocks in between. Presumably, one of them is isolating yourself against gas price shocks. Maybe another is caring greatly about CO2 emissions. But one rock ought to be that the car drives adequately well. As the Insight discovered, these stepping stones are sometimes slippery. And that'll be a challenge for the Prius C as well.source:thecarconnection.com,edmunds.com,motortrend.com

Information Specification Image Review 2012 bentley suv
Bentley says its controversial 2012 Geneva motor show concept, the Bentley EXP 9F, will evolve its design before being confirmed for production.
The Bentley EXP 9F SUV has been one of the big talking points of Europe’s first major motor show of the year, but the British luxury brand’s head of design, Dirk van Braeckel, says the concept is designed to create a reaction.

“[This concept] is our first hit at [creating a Bentley SUV],” the Belgian designer (pictured below with the concept) told CarAdvice in an exclusive interview. “I’m sure people will like it, [but] people will [also] find it controversial in certain areas. “And that’s a reason why the vehicle has already been a success.
According to the report, Bentley officials have admitted that the design was "heavy handed" and have promised to tone it down, as the SUV heads toward a likely 2015 on-sale date. Potential changes include "slightly smaller" headlights, and "more traditional SUV proportions," according to the magazine's source.

We hope Bentley goes a bit further and just starts from scratch, dumping the sedan-ified SUV look entirely. If Bentley is bound and determined to sell an SUV, it should come up with something distinctive for the brand that doesn't just ape the classic look of its car line.

Naturally, the 9F comes with a 12-cylinder engine, although Bentley’s Peter Guest was quick to note a plug-in hybrid would be an option, were the behemoth to make it into production. Bentley is currently gauging reception from the few hundred people in the world who a.) would want a Bentley SUV and b.) could afford it.

The 9F feels terribly wrong on all levels until you sit in on a few press conferences with luxury automakers who say the United States remains their largest market, but China isn’t far behind. Maserati, for instance, already sells half as many Maserati GranTurismos in China as they do in the states. And Bentley, which saw a banner year in 2011, enjoys particularly brisk sales in China.
So from that perspective, the 9F makes a ton of sense (more like four tons, given the car’s dimensions). It’s perfect for a violently nouveaux riche market. It’s big, it’s brash and it’s completely obvious, a Continental GT on steroids.source:autoblog.com,caradvice.com.au,wired.com
