Fernando Alonso's 37 points lead has been cut down to just 29 points. Lewis Hamilton, who was second in the standings, has dropped back to fourth due to his retirement in the Singapore grand prix. Race winner Sebastian Vettel thus climbs to second spot. Paul di Resta's strong performance moves him into 11th, while Timo Glock's 12th place finish moves him from 22nd

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel survived an incident-packed Singapore Grand Prix to reignite his world title defense with a thrilling victory on Sunday.
